MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A recovery fund set up to help Minot recover from record Souris River flooding last year has doled out more than $3.3 million so far to flood victims.

The Minot Area Recovery Fund flood expense reimbursement process started in mid-November. The Minot Area Community Foundation met with more than 1,700 people and families during the first phase of money distribution.

The second phase is set for March. The foundation plans to send out 1,200 invitation letters to residents.

The Souris River last year swamped more than 4,000 homes and businesses in North Dakota's fourth-largest city. More than $6.5 million has been raised for the recovery fund.
