KSJB 600 AM is turning back the clock this Saturday to celebrate 75 years of radio in Jamestown.

At 11 a.m. the station will hold “Diamond Time” and air an original 15-minute broadcast from the NBC Blue Network that aired in 1937.

The syndicated program is called “Riding High.” It will include the news and music from an orchestra and singer.

“Other than a few scratches, it sounds like it was recorded yesterday,” said Bob Sands, KSJB music director.

Back in 1937 the station was known as KRMC.

KSJB will continue its 75 year anniversary at 7 p.m. on March 31, with a special performance by Merrill Piepkorn and the Dakota Radio Stars at the Reiland Fine Arts Center on the campus of Jamestown College.

The variety show will be recorded and aired across North Dakota public radio at a later date.
